Activated carbon is used as a filtration medium for liquid, odour, and gaseous applications such as water treatment, chemical, pharmaceutical, distillery, brewery and stack emissions. Activated carbon is produced by charring certain types of carbon-containing materials, such as coal and wood, and then activating it by exposing the material to high temperature steam. This creates a porous material with a very large surface area. The pores naturally capture pollutants, allowing activated carbon to serve as an effective filter of airborne and waterborne pollutants.
Activated carbon comes in a variety of forms, including powdered, granulated and pelletized, as appropriate for the specific filtration application.
TekModo is a distributor of many pellet types of coal-based activated carbon products each specifically designed to provide a unique pore structure and adsorption properties. The pellets can also be reactivated through thermal oxidation and used multiple times for the same application, providing an environmentally responsible solution for removing contaminants from air, gas and water streams.
TekModo is also a distributor of coal-based granular activated carbon (GAC). TekModo distributes coal-based GACs with a range of product specifications, designed to meet the filtration demands for a wide array of applications.
TekModo's pellet and GAC products are not subject to U.S. tariffs, making them very price competitive in the U.S. market.
